I have the honour to report my arrival in London, from Hong Kong (Saturday last), on the evening of the 2nd instant. I request the honour of an interview with you at your convenience, on the subject of my case and the correspondence to which it has led.
It is especially my wish to disabuse your impression, which, very greatly to the prejudice of my reputation, you are represented by The Times reporter, as having entertained and avowed in Parliament; viz. that I have been guilty of some breach of official confidence in the course of the proceedings of the late Caldecott bequest permission to trustees.
I have the honour to be, Sir, your most obedient and humble Servant,
Ti Mochison Anstey, The Right Honourable Sir E. Bulwer Lytton, Bart M.P. Secretary of State for the Colonies, Downing Street.
